Members Awake77
i almost want to say the answer is no, as I think it came up in the thread. although there might be some sort of internal work around I was starting to think seriously about a hardware groove box like the MC-909 when I read about the Maschine. Looks like this combined with the right DAW would be pretty nifty.

Members Metrosonus
dang. i type NI Maschine and came up zilch, save this thread. I think the consensus was it's cool, but most would pass since it's tied to the software and won't function stand alone.

Members xmlguy
That thread doesn't contain the word Maschine. It contains the word "Maschine????", while the search engine isn't smart enough to strip punctuation characters from the index, it is smart enough to strip it from the search keyword input, making it impossible to find. Seems like there was another recent thread about the stupidity of the search engine here, but I searched for it and I can't find it, so it must not exist. Members Awake77
So its a drum machine/sampler? Do the sounds come from the Maschine unit or do you have to load them on your harddrive?
Members Metrosonus
it's a hardware controller that works with the software. so it's all on your harddrive. although they did mention you can use the controller for other apps. Members Meatball Fulton
Online dealers say it will be available next Monday (2/16) for you die-hard early adopters. No "consensus" since only those who made it to NAMM have seen it in the flesh. The soft engine is Battery tweaked to act more like an MPC.
Members Pilotwings
This thing looks pretty neat!Anyone know if its MIDI data from the step sequencer can be routed to external synths? As an MPC4000 user, this product does look good... maybe sometime later this year I might have to start adding a "software" setup in addition to my hardware instruments. It seems that by not doing so, eventually I'll be left "in the dust". This product, Spectrasonics and Emulator X3 really interest me. Before I make the leap, I'll really have to take a good look at an audio interface (what to buy) and possibly look at a faster computer.
Members ew_
Online dealers say it will be available next Monday (2/16) for you die-hard early adopters. There's a few who say they'll get it in stock on Saturday. However, the first maintenance update for the software won't be out until the official release date to the best of my knowledge. With the long lead times needed for getting DVDs back from duplicating, etc; the release software, while functional, isn't quite all there in some regards. The 1.0.1 software (which is the maintenance release) is much improved in some regards. No "consensus" since only those who made it to NAMM have seen it in the flesh. The soft engine is Battery tweaked to act more like an MPC. I've had the software for about six months, and the controller since late October, so your first statement isn't quite correct. Your second statement isn't quite right either, but I'll skip the boring details. And no- you can't route Maschine's sequencer externally, either as a plugin or as a standalone app. There's a Maschine forum at NI now; I'm one of the mods for it. Stop by and say hi:wave: ew
