Sound Quality

[Perceived output level] Ultradeth [Tone] Mids out the ass, but somehow very balanced, for me anyway [Sonic evaluation] This is the mightest pickup I have ever tried. With an EMG 81 I had my gain set at 7, with this I need it at 4 to even make sense of the notes. My setup sucks so I wont bother listing it. But I will say that I do have a more soloish tone, mids and treble with close to zero bass. This pickup seems to be very middy for one, which I love, and also very bassy. So, for me, this equates out to a pretty perfect well-rounded tone. But I could see how a more rhythm gutarist could find this pickup to be muddy, unless properly eqed. Harmonics scream out of this bad boy, when soloing it almost sounds like I'm pinch harmonicing every note! Very bad ass. [For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable] Livewire "Heavy Metal" humbucker, kind of says it all

Reliability/Durability

General Comments

[Comments] Damn if this monster broke I'd sure get 2 more! I've been playing metal for 3 years and this is the best pickup I've discovered so far. I get the feeling that the EMG 85 in the bridge might be similar, but with less gain. I'll have to try that.
