Members Booya Tribe Posted March 10, 2009 Members Share Posted March 10, 2009 I am running tracktion 1 on a 1GHz mac with 1GB ram & USB1. I recently bought an $11 1 in 1 out USB midi interface. I bought it mainly just for recording tunes into my sequencer to make it quicker, but I just tried running some sequences out of it to my Nord Micro Modular. It plays back really sloppy, doesn't hold time very well, skips some notes, etc. I can easily run 8+ tracks of audio, soft synths, and samplers with effects and it stays in sync perfectly fine, so I don't think it is a computing power issue. MIDI doesn't take much computing power at all, which leads me to believe it is the interface. Is there something I can look into with my software, or do I pretty much assume it is the $11 midi interface that is unable to handle the piddly MIDI stream for some reason?
