Members les_rokr
ive never played a juno d, but i would imagine that it has decent sounds and can be had for around $500. not a rack though.
Members CfNorENa
With a bit of luck, and patience, you might be able to pick up a used Motif ES rack for around $500 . . .
Members The Pro
You can buy my Kurzweil KMP-1 module for $250, Includes power supply, owners manual. In great condition. It makes good acoustic piano, Rhodes, organ, strings. PM me.
Members AJP
Also, I remember auditioning Roland's XV-2020 half-rackspace module and thinking, "damn, this thing sounds good".
Members Thorhead
Roland Sonic Cell? Motif rack is better than sonic cell. Sonic cells realistic sounds sound gimped. At least the pianos, guitars and horns that is. Myabe with the piano, ultimate keys and orchestra SRX... Anyway romplers like sonic cell are kinda poor with realistic sounds, sample libraries are better, exspecially with violines. Pads and synth stuff on the other hand is pretty good. Members setAI
Omnisphere has kind of upped the ante on realistic instrument timbres- it makes all the hardware out there sound a little dull and old-tech like 80s romplers

Members Thamel
My choice would be omnisphere. It has an amazing library and under 5 bills. Only thing is that it's a bit cpu hungry so you might need to upgrade your machine. Check out the sites and sounds -http://en.audiofanzine.com/virtual-sampler-sample-player/spectrasonics/Omnisphere/reviews/

Members ChristianRock
1. Buy Paolo's Roland SC-880 module (see this thread) - won't cost you more than 200 dollars for sure. His unit is on Ebay, too, at $145 starting price.2. Buy a controller like the Novation SL61 - you might find one used for 300. There are others that are cheaper, too, but the action won't be as good. Having a good controller like that means you can add softsynths and other goodies in the future and you'll be able to control them from your keyboard. By the way, for piano you need 61 keys, at least.3. ???????4. Profit!!!
