Members supergwario2
I am having trouble grasping Midi in general and I'm sure I'm asking a noobish question but I have PSR-292 keyboard and it has general midi in and out. Can I use this as midi controller with programs like reason 4.0? Also is there a good site to refer to for starting out learning about midi? I have been curious about it for a while but I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it. Any help is much appreciated thanks!
Members supergwario2
i know this is an old pos keyboard I just didn't know if it could be used to to control sounds in Reason. It does have general midi but I really dont know if that's all I need. I'll take any responses to help even if are they are making fun of my lack of knowledge in the Midi department. Help a guy out! Should i keep this or just buy another midi controller?
Members tim gueguen
Yes, it will control Reason. To do so you'll need a MIDI interface for your computer. But you'll be limited by the limited controls on the PSR. For example it doesn't have pitch bend and modulation wheels and it doesn't offer on board controls for operating parameters in the software. It's obviously better than nothing, but you might seriously want to consider a low end MIDI controller of the sort offered by M Audio and Edirol, which are more suited to that kind of thing.
