Members Keytarist
Hi. Anyone of you have tried/bought the Kawai Es-6?. I went to the store and is a good bargain. Do you know if you can perform the half pedaling effect on it?. Despite I insisted, the guy didn't borrow me the original pedal, so I had to use a footswitch...I couldn't test it.And, do you know if it is true that every note was sampled from the acoustic piano?. I didn't see any disclaimer regarding this at their site, so I guess Kawai is saying the truth in the specs.

Members The Pro
I own an ES-4 and I've played the ES-6. Yes, the ES series does half-pedaling but you need to use a Roland sustain pedal to do it (there's one that can send CC's) or get the three-pedal option from Kawai. The ES-6 features individual sampled notes but it doesn't sound much different from the the ES-4. I love the sound of the Kawai ES and it's a good buy compared to the mid-range Yamahas and Rolands.
