Members evildragon
www.sonikmatter.com, register on the forum and ask mr. Dave Weiser all your Kurzweil related questions. He's a marvellous chap.
Members Mediterranean
This may be helpful to you. I repaired the unlit LCD of my Yamaha SY77 by purchasing a backlight for it from these guys [read the red paragraph]. It's worth sending them an email to ask them if they have a display for your unit or if they can fix it themselves and how much it would cost. Best of luck. Members TechEverlasting
Lines in the display won't be fixed with a backlight, you'll need a replacement LCD screen. You might also be able to use the unit and just ignore the lines - is any of the display legible. Try using the "large" view mode for program and setups names. I'm curious what you consider to be an attractive price for a damaged K2500R . I find prices for Kurzweil K2s vary widely on ebay. Last year I picked up a "new old stock" K2500R with Orchestra and Contemporary ROMs and PRAM expansion for $500.
Members augerinn
Or you could dispense with trying to fix the display altogether and use the exceptional (and free) VAST Programmer SW.
Members Stabby
As long as it's readable I can't quite see the problem here?
Members ElectricPuppy
Depends on where the dead lines are. If they're right on the edge of the character cells, it can be really annoying to try to decrypt the display.
