Members vwizz
Damn! Dave did it again!! If find the price quite appealing and the poly chain exciting.. Can't wait to hear what the sub oscillators sound like in a nice pad Only remark though: it seems that the name/visual design is quite sober on this one, almost "too serious" for such a toy... I noticed that many people here disliked the name and yellow design of the Mopho... Damn! But OK, that's secondary..

Members llamastorm
I think I sold my mopho because I didn't like it too much as a monosynth. This could totally work. Cheaper than the Studio Electronics Code 4 anyway
Members augerinn
That's very cool. Not immediate want, but want nonetheless. BTW, I just noticed the Prophet08PE sports pots too.

Members program_insect
Bleh. Dave is supposed to be working on my LinnDrum 2, not another cheap-o menu box.
Members Umbra
Eh, looks like a rehash of the mopho which is a rehash of the prophet which is a rehash of the polyevolver which is a rehash of the evolver which is a rehash of a couple of sequential synths. If the drum machine ever get's release at least it's a new product more or less.

The whole new color scheme and knobs, among all the other cool features, certainly makes me want it! It should be a hit!

No, I think that is all up to Roger Linn now. Update - July 9, 2009:http://www.rogerlinndesign.com/products/linndrum2/index.shtml "Also, given that Dave and his team have their hands pretty full and that a beat-oriented product is more of a Roger product anyway, we
Members frogmonkey
Potentiometers, yup. Those knobs/encoders are the Achilles' heel of the Evolver.
Members llamastorm
Pots AND the Evolver's matrix editor might have been nice. Not sure it makes sense, but beats menus or a computer.
Members ElectricPuppy
Lack of reasonable on-board editing makes ElectricPuppy say "no". No.
Members moog man
If the editor is as buggy as the mopho's I could see editing on this being a real pain.
Members Terminus
Great news for me since I'm GASing for a mopho. A new polyphonic model should mean a price drop for the mopho, right? At least for the second hand-market.
Members DocT
Because there is no audio on the DSI page yet, some quick and dirty sound snippets from an early betatest stadium. All sounds are 4 voice "auto-playing" sequence combos, means played by the "Push It" button without keyboard connected. http://www.trippler.net/files/fugu/stcombos.mp3
Members soundwave106
For me, this box would have most appeal as an expander box. Your Prophet 08 can now fairly easily become 12-voice or 16-voice. Since I already have a five-voice Evolver, I'll pass. But this synth should do well. Members Nillerbabs
I predict this will be a huge seller. If I were into synths, I'd want one.
Members Orren
http://www.trippler.net/files/fugu/stcombos.mp3 Sounds great! Here's a question for you: Forgetting about the extra polyphony and knobs, which basic "sound engine" do you prefer: 4 voices of Tetra, or 4 voices of Prophet '08?
