Members Mediterranean
Anybody got one? Damn! For me, it was an instant reminder of that beautiful pad-like sound in Jarre's "Oxyg
Members TropicThink
The key to that Jarre sound is actually the phaser and not quite as much the original sound source- I think JMJ put an Eminent organ through a Smallstone phaser to make those sounds. Members NickD101
Smallstone phaser seems to be the thing to get that sound according to most - and I also heard that Jarre ran it off 8.5V not 9V to allegedly get a softer sound. I have no idea if that's true!

Yeah -- any synthy type pad through a Small Stone with the "colour" switch on seems to have that Jarre vibe.
Members idiotboy
The Logan belongs in the "string machine" genre of vintage preset synths, like the Eminent, the Solina and the Freeman. I'm not that into softies, but GForce has a nice one called "VSM" that does these sounds pretty well. Check this thread for a demo.
Members tspit74
DEfinitely the phaser effect. I run my Moog Opus 3 into a Behringer Vintage Phaser (their Small Stone knockoff) and it sounds amazing. So much so, that I'd never seek out a dedicated string synth like a Logan, Crummar, or Solina. Tony Banks got a similar sound running his Hammond into a phaser. I still have to try my Mellotron thru my different phasers. I tried it thru my Moog 12 stage, but they didn't get along well. Most of my pedals are at a friends right now.

Bought a Smallstone pedal cheap-ish off eBay and ran unprocessed Eminent samples through it. Instant Jarre. Unmistakeable. Can definitely vouch for the "it's the phaser" thing - a friend of mine got it close when he shoved a random thin string sound through.
Members Meatball Fulton
You could run a kazoo through a phaser and the average listener would probably dig it.
Members llamastorm
Know offhand if the Behringer knockoff doesn't have that volume drop the stones seem to have have? I'm not skilled enough to fix mine. Turning off the SS can be dangerous to one's hearing
Members tspit74
The Behringer does have the volume drop.
