Members synth_lover
This is my second question on this site that I'm happy to have found. Anyway, I'm thinking about buying a second keyboard. I already have an SH-201 but I want a rompler mainly for its piano sounds. I'm torn between the Roland Juno-D and the Yamaha PSR 413. Which one would be a better choice /more capable one and have more realistic piano sounds and more features ?? Thanks
Members Franz Schiller
While the Juno-D has a decent soundset, don't plan on ever saving any sounds. The interface is such a pain in the ass! I hated mine, and swore never to buy Roland keyboards again. (only Boss gear). I can't speak of any Yammy stuff. Look into used Kurzweils. Like the KME-61 (on the cheap end) or a PC- of some sort, money depending. ANY of those will have great pianos.
Members augerinn
Yeah, the Kurz will have great piano. Same as the PC series, and the Micro Ensemble..... I can vouch for Kurz pianos. Very, very, good.
Members AJP
For the Juno-D price range, look for a Yamaha Motif 6. Even the "classic" Motif has a great sound engine.
Members synth_lover
Thanks all for the replies and the advice. I'm not too picky about the piano sounds I'm looking for as long as they're not real crappy. I took a listen to the Juno-D and thought its piano sounds were nice enough. The Yamaha too has decent piano sounds but don't know which keyboard would be better overall. A music store here in Canada has the Juno for $300 and I think the PSR 413 goes for around the same. Kurzweil or Motif go for a lot more than that I'm assuming that's if I can find them.
