powered keyboard stand

Hi all, just want to ask if anyone knows of any other powered keyboard stands, like the ones made by Solid Stand?

Solid Stand seem pretty good but are really expensive, especially in OZ with the shipping costs.

Or does anyone have any links to sites that MAY have instructions on how to build one?

Reason is that with a back issue I have developed, I can now only sit for about 20 minutes or stand for about 20 minutes at a time, and pulling down the keybaord and cables every twenty minutes at a show is NOT an option :)

Thanks

Have you tried a kneeling chair? They take all of the pressure off of your back- they really work.

Yeah that would be good if I could, but it is a permanent situation. I have thought about making one (a keyboard stand) using longer gas struts, like those use in stools, but because they are round in section the keyboard would just keep swinging around in circles. Now if I could find square gas struts??? But I don't think they are made.

I have a special "saddle" stool, that is designed to tilt the pelvis at the right angles for sitting, but as I said even with that its only about 20 minutes.

I might just have to fork up the dough for one of those Solid Stands.

I did think about two keyboards, and I do have my modified (to 73 notes) Keystation Pro, but two big keyboards is something I'd rather avoid if possible. The "keytar" idea has merit though, and frankly I had forgotten about them :)
