Members zoink
The jump from ~$620 to ~$1200 indicates either a shill bidder or someone (usually low feedback) who is driving up the auction price with no intention of buying the item, even if he should win. This is one reason why the relatively new policy of not revealing bidders IDs is a bad idea. It ruins a lot of auctions, and allows shill bidding to run rampant. Members asynchro_nous
Exactly, but how does the system allow the bidding to jump so dramatically so suddenly?
Members zoink
Exactly, but how does the system allow the bidding to jump so dramatically so suddenly? It's suspicious how the bids jumped in such clean increments. Usually if the bid increment is something like $2, then you'd see a bid for $602 show up when one person outbid someone else's highest bid set at $600, etc.

Members zoink
Auction sniper failure. Funny what happens when two snipers home in on the same auction. The seller (who, for all we know, might have been one of the bidders) will have to re-list it.

Around the $600 mark, I think $20 is the minimum you can increase a bid.
