Hammond XK 1 Battery Help

Yes, It's quite easy to do.... getting the info how to do it is another story..

 

Flip the board face down (make sure you have a clean area to work on) remove like 30 small screws on the whole bottom, it lifts right off and you can see the battery plain as day.

 

If it was the first generation, the battery clip is just a tad too big so give it a gentle squeeze then insert the battery and put a small piece of electrical tape around it to secure it.

 

Put the bottom back on and put all those small screws back in. Don't use a power driver or you will strip them.

 

They are great units... I have one and love it. I had the battery changed by a tech that showed me how to do it, takes maybe 20 minutes.

 

It's easy really, Hammond could have put a door access there but NOOOOOO !!!
