Members erok123
I would think an SD-1 would be worth $250-$350 US. Maybe 250 euro? Hard to say. Cool synth though. You could join the yahoo VFX/SD-1 group and ask. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ensoniq-VFX-SD/
Members TropicThink
I'd expect the MS2000 to be worth a little bit more than the Ensoniq, but it's not often that I see an SD-1 for sale nowadays, so I can't say for sure what the worth of that machine really is. I'd ask for some cash in addition to the synth if I were you, though. I'd probably want

Members greggybud
The MS2000 and the Ensoniq SD ( I have the VFX-SD version 2) are simply two different synths. The Ensoniq is a workstation, 24 tracks, data saved to 3.5 floppy. In 1991 the idea was that you compose complete multi-track songs with the unit. The sounds are wide range, many acoustic, and perhaps lean toward new age material due to the numerous sampled wind instruments for the VFX. MS2000 (please correct me if I'm wrong) is more of a "traditional" VA synthesizer. Therefore if you want to focus on synth sounds, and deep synth bass, this is better. As far as value, I personally would go for the Ensoniq SD because of the quality of sampled sounds, transwaves, and the fact that they are no longer dropping in price. Ensoniq was once a wonderful company and it's a shame they were squeezed out of the market until they were forced to let Creative ruin them for good. Members Franz Schiller
I have a VFX without the sequencer, which preceeds the SD-1 by two models. I sort of agree with GreggyBud that they're two synths. However, I would posit that the Ensoniq is still clay in the hands of a programming type person. It has a really interesting synth architecture, in that it combines manipulation of sample playback, along with transwaves...this synthesis would eventually become the Fizmo. I would say that the MS2000 will produce simple, run of the mill VA synth sounds, while the SD-1 can produce (with some imagination) some pretty crazy stuff. Members Tomkeen
I would keep the MS2000 if only for the knobs myself.. Haven't ever seen an Ensoniq in person, so my opinion doesn't really count.
Members erok123
Here are some strange noises I did on a VFXsd, if it helps you decide.
Members TropicThink
The two synths are obviously vastly different. The question here, though, was their respective market values as of 2010.
