Members John_McEnroe
I just shipped my poly evolver across north america, and since setting it up again I have just noticed that voice #3 never plays back... it just gets skipped. If I play notes one at a time, the synth will sound three times, and then on the next note I play I get no sound. I searched the Dave Smith website and the only recommended fix for this issue is to make sure poly chain is off in the global menu (which it is). Has anyone else encountered this? Did my synth somehow get broken during shipping? (I did ship it in its original box). Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Members Yoozer
Perhaps a cable has disconnected or a chip has unseated? Boxes don't protect against gravity and sudden deceleration.
Members John_McEnroe
I am not very experienced at opening synths. Do you think it would be safe to open it up and take a look around inside?
Members John_McEnroe
Well I opened it up but couldn't see anything obviously loose, but when I plugged it back in again the voice reappeared. Thank god.
Members stikygum
To put you at ease, the same thing happened to me. I bought my PEK used and every now and again a voice wouldn't play (and I think it might have sown it was the third oddly enough), but after a while of using itthe problem just disappeared. Don't know why because I didn't do anything to it. Months later I did open my PEK up to do the put deoxit on the encoders and had to unplug all the cables, but that was unrelated. So no issues for me since then.
