Members allencowbell
Hi, I have a Kurzweil keyboard and lost the power supply for it. It says that it requires a 12v .5amp power supply. I grabbed a new supply for it, thinking that it was your standard DC female plug.... but I can't get it to fit. It looks like a standard plug, but it won't fit inside. Does this keyboard take a different type of connector? Any help is appreciated.
Members radioblues
I have an SP76, too - when I lost my power supply a couple of years ago I was able to find a 12volt 500mA supply at Radio Shack. It's their part #273-1773 All their wall warts have a universal connecter on the end so you can use different tips/connectors. If I recall, when you buy it you get your choice of one... mine's marked size "N" and it works fine. Good luck with it.
Members allencowbell
Thanks for your help! I went to Radio Shack and purchased the adapter and power supply.... it worked, but it was $32 for the total cost! I bought it and returned it when I realized it was not worth $32. ... insane. I already have a 12v power supply, the connector isn't the right size though. So, I did a bit of research. Most power adapters have a 2.1mm inside diameter (ID). The 'N' connector that Radio Shack sells is simply a 2.5mm ID. I was able to find a converter kit from a company down the street from me called Altex. Altex DC Power Adapter Connector Kit This kit allows you to use any standard power adapter you have laying around, and you just gotta plug in a connector to the end so it can go into your equipment. It comes with 6 connectors, so that is really nice. Works great, and it only cost $5! A steal. If anyone having the same problems as me needs help, free feel to PM me. Members everlight44
^ That's brilliant... nice find. If you for some reason have tons of trouble getting that specific jack, you could probably put a different one in the keyboard and use the power supply you bought. An adapter should be easier though.
