Members Purity_Control
Is that for real or a spoof? Everything real has got cheaper and tackier and everything spoof has got more professional looking... maybe they're passing somewhere in the middle but i have to admit i can;t tell anymore. Members The Audacity Works
Nice! I love the contact-sensitive encoders that generate various mods.

Members evildragon
Yes, it's new. Looks interesting. Too bad it's not multitimbral. I guess the price will decide the success of it.

Members zoink
Looks great. Must have. The things I especially like at first blush: 1. Bigger display. 2. Modulation wheels instead of joystick bender/mod, which was prone to mechanical problems. 3. NICE looking software editor. 4. Touch-sense controls look interesting. I hope they're not fragile. 5. 2 in, 4 out USB audio interface. A great idea that I've wondered why other manufacturers didn't follow. 6. Can draw power from your laptop's USB port. Excellent. It looks like Novation has kept the features they got right with the X-Station, Xiosynth, and (Super)Nova, changed the features that needed to go, and learned from the new form factor pioneered by Korg and Alesis. I would MUCH rather have one of these than a GAIA.
Members ChristianRock
Aftertouch, two wheels, more filter options and wavetable synthesis? I think the Micron/Miniak has lost its crown as the best small synth. Only problem... it's single-part, while the Micron offers 8 parts. That might be quite significant. But I'm really curious about it now. Quite unexpected, huh? Hurray for hardware And it's got a "supersaw" (9-saw: pulse combination)! And 6 envelopes! (Patches organized by type and musical genre... I guess that's kinda unavoidable now ) I think it's going to be a HUGE hit!
Members xpander
i wonder what kind of market they're looking to capture.
Members ChristianRock
Estimated price in England: 499 pounds. So it competes directly at the GAIA price point. http://www.gear4music.com/news/article/Novation-Announce-Long-Awaited-UltraNova-Synthesizer/2FC/2010-09-

Members wwwjd
Micron's are $300 new, so this new thing is not competing with it
Members ChristianRock
Well, nothing out there competes with the Micron... even the MicroKorg XL is a couple hundred dollars more... I'm guessing 749.00 or 799.00 street price in the US...
Members aztechno
So 499GBP*1.54 (current exchange rate) = $768.46 Would the price in the UK include VAT or not?

Members Umbra
If all the parameters are accessable withouth the editor this is going to be hard to pass up. Love the novation sound.
Members cl516
I'm totally getting one. I've been really wanting a compact VA again, but didn't want to grab another MS2000 or Radias...I've always been a big fan of the Novation sound. Members MuzikB
It's about time. I hope all that time enabled them to get it right. Looks perfect for my needs as I enter college. Would rather have 4 octaves though. If you can edit all the synth parameters from the front panel then I may buy one.
