Members awdwon
Maybe this is the wrong place for this but...... I'm thinking of buying NI Maschine and I have a bootleg copy of Kontakt. Does anyone know if they can possibly work together or will Kontakt cease to work after registering Maschine? Members ChristianRock
You are right, this is probably the wrong place to ask. I don't think any of the serious synthesizer forums endorses piracy. So just go buy your copy of Kontakt. Or just get Komplete...

I might just buy a copy of Komplete in the future, but don't go actin' all holier than thou implying that yourself or anyone on these boards has never pirated software just to try something out before buying it. The "try before buy" argument is lame. You can download the free Kontakt 4 Player (which is the same as full Kontakt with some features disabled) if you want to demo Kontakt. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/kontakt-player/ To answer your question, if you attempt to install a legitimate NI application on a computer with a warez NI application, the following happens:-- the software automatically notifiies NI-- NI contacts your local piracy police-- the piracy police come to your door and arrest you-- you are never seen again, you simply vanish. Members Gribs
I do not nor have I ever used pirated software even to just try something. Using bootleg software is called stealing and it is against my personal code of ethics and behavior. Maschine is an excellent piece of software with an excellent controller. Members synthesia
I'm not going to lie, I have a pirated copy of Traktor Dj Studio 3, just because I can't find a place to buy it since there have been like five new traktors since then. (The newest of which I own) But to answer your question, no it doesn't stop working. Just every time you open the service center it tries to get you to authorize it, which doesn't happen. That said, I love NI and recommend picking up Komplete, I could spend a year straight with just my PC, midi controller and Komplete and not even scratch the surface of everything it has to offer. Members ElectricPuppy
Naw, man, that totally happened to a dude I know. He was using a cracked copy of Absynth and it literally called the cops and they dragged him away! Then his PC dialed his parent's PC and uploaded all his porn to it. Then it exploded. Seriously, though. I don't think warez users are entitled to any help from anybody.
