Anyone dowloaded the new BD grand piano from Nord?

I'm referring to the Lady D. I find that particular sample incredibly versatile since it's bright and lively, yet takes a bit of mellowing via the EQ well.

But this just goes to show that just as some prefer the older Steinways to the new one, many may find delight in this new, mellow piano.

I'll take back what I said. It seems I just needed to adapt - most of the complaints regarding the new piano have evaporated, and the Steinway Lady D just seems thin and shrill now.

It's still not perfect - I'll agree with those complaining about the Nords having a bit of that certain boxyness to them. But on the other hand, no sampled/modeled piano is too perfect. Even if the new CP's have the best keybeds ever and the most 'perfect' sound, they're just too generic and genderless to me.

I would like to add to your "boxiness" sonic problem - what speakers have you heard them thru? I find the piano sounds completely different, thru different powered speakers. I think there is more boxiness thru an eon10, then a 450 srm. It also depends on where you hear the sound, in relationship to the soundfield of the speaker(s). And stereo is night and day compared to mono.

Yup, amplification is everything. In my room I play through a pair of cheap M-Audio powered speakers that actually sound very nice to me. But to me the boxiness is evident through these speakers as well as through my QSC K12, which is renowned of its powerful, lively and first and foremost flat output - of course to a varying extent.

Regarding mono, I've actually played the B
