Hmmm, with all the unique features of the M3 (touch screen, Karma, drum tracks, etc.) and the fact you can split/layer up to 16 sounds with it, isn't the MOX a step down?

I think it depends on your needs/preferences. Personally, I have no use for Karma or Drum Tracks so they were always shut off globally when I owned an M3.

I think for many people that would be the case. The fact is, I have never really seriously used those features on the M3, although they are entertaining and I have had lots of fun fooling around with Karma and the X-Y touchscreen features. I know that there are many people who really use and enjoy these things.

In a perfect world, I would be able to keep both boards, but finances being what they are, that just doesn't work for me right now. I am still recovering from 18 months of unemployment back in '08 - '09, while putting two kids through college.

Plus you really wanted that little Yamaha. I heard you state before that you missed the sounds. Your Korg looks great however.

A friend of mine has an M3. He does a lot of electronic/ambient/movie soundtrack type stuff. He does wonders with Karma and drum tracks, along with weaving splits/layers in and out, changing (Karma) scenes etc.

I never liked or used that stuff either, Karma and automated drum tracks etc.

I just want the sounds, nothing more.

One thing that always bugged me about the Oasys, the Karma is on by default, I wish it was the other way around. Oh well, I know I'm in the minority because a lot of people really enjoy those features.

You'll be happy to know that the Kronos has a global off for all of that stuff! I thought the OASYS did too?

I learned at the Karma forums you must edit each combi and turn it off, then save it again.

Either that or if you are using a combi live and it has karma, then you must remember to manually press the karma off button, otherwise you will get the automated 'boom chicka boom boom' coming out the mains.
