Members Caligvla
I recently bought an educational version of Pro Tools 9 and was very eagerly planning on using it ... However, my mac isn't running Snow Leopard so I can't use it until I get a thing or two sorted out ... In the meantime, I'm still using Logic Express 8 ... In fact, I'm recording a new album right now and using that version of Logic ... In the past, I've complained not enjoying using Logic and its uninspiring nature ... but this time around, I'm getting stuff done with minimal fuss ... So ... Should I sell PT 9 (I could use the cash ... ) ... ??? Or is the upgrade to PT worth it? (I should mention I'm doing very little in the way of audio or MIDI manipulation ... Basically some cut and paste of externally recorded audio and maybe some f/x applied ... ) The only other factor is that I'm using Native Instruments maschine ... Does either PT or Logic "play nicer" with Maschine ... ??? (I've posted this question at the NI Maschine forum as well ... ) I also willing to sell PT9 if anybody's interested ... i did open the box to look inside, but NOTHING's been installed or registered regarding the software or the included iLock ... I'll let it $200 (educational version) ... That is, if someone doesn't convince me to keep it ...
Members MuzikB
If your doing the album completely by yourself, then I'd sell PT9. If you plan on branching to higher end studios, then I'd keep it.
Members DJ RAZZ
If logic is working for you, it is as you know a very good solo DAW. If you have a MAC it is even more a no brainer. I have a PC as of current and I am planning on re learning to use Sonar for it's ease an compatibility with new Roland gear. Good luck selling PT that will be a challenge I am afraid. Members The Audacity Works
What's your timeframe? Logic Pro X is coming soon (and Logic Express is going away), it'll be cheaper, and way easier to use. But I agree completely with MuzikB
