Micron/Miniak CC's or NRPN's

I used to own a Micron but sadly had to sell it. Now I have a Akai

Miniak(bought on blow-out)Micron and Miniaks are almost identical except for re=packaging

and perhaps something else I am missing.

Can some of the Miniak's/Micron respond to cc's on certaind patameters?

I know there is NRPN options but even that gets confusing. Let me point to some docmuments and an actually editor

that adds to my confusion.

First off:

looking at the back panel(rear view) of the HyperSynth Miniak GU on

the left there 12 source and 12 destinations)2 columns. When you click on the

source there are 12 of them and later on down the list there are cc1-cc119 as choices. On the

right of course a list of many destinations. If I am not wrong it appears you

can use cc's for parameters in the Mod matrix.

However When I Examine the Micron's NRPN's pdf it lists left to right the

Category then parameter,NRPN(x/y/x) then min./max values.

Towards the latter The Microns PDF chard shows values either well below 0 and

way above 127 on many of the category choices of assignments. What gives?

The problem is my

Novation Xio25's template editor(for using it's midi controller knobs, buttons,

and x/y pad) choosing edit on a knob or button brings up control settings for

using cc's, NRPN's and RPN's. The thing is the values can only be set

numerically from 0-127, be it CC's or NRPN's

Will it be a nightmare to program My Xio via Template editor, or even my Yamaha KX49

which also has a similar template editor. Does the Hypersynth editor at least

allow you to choose CC's as described above successfully on the Miniak?

Please help or lead me in the right direction as I have the Zio and KX49

keyboard midi controller keyboards I would mainly use these controllers

in a oerformance sceanrio and use the Hypersynth editor for deeper editing

Please help or point me in the right direction

Yep. If you want to use CC's and keep things simple, use the mod matrix.

Example: Source = CC 17. Destination = Filter Cutoff. Amount = 100. Set this up in the mod matrix. You can do this directly on the Micron/MiniAk, so probably with an editor too.

Then set your external controller board to send CC 17.
