WTF dude?

You getting hammered on a divorce? If I didn't just spend 100k in the past two months, I would've bought your entire bundle.

What you doing, clearing house and starting fresh?

Whatever it is, I wish you luck and wish I saw this ad two months ago.

This is sad thread.

At least I hope you're not quitting music for good.

Best of luck Diametro!

OK. It's a little sad but I'm fine ...

And by no means am I quitting music ...

In fact, selling this gear will allow me the luxury of continuing to be "under-employed" while recording my fourth album and continuing to write my novel ... I know I won't be enthused when I reach the point in the recording process where I'd typically reach for the Jupiters, but I guess I'm just going to have to be more creative and push myself in new directions ... (It's just sooooo quick and easy to make great, unique sounds with the JP8/6 ... )

And after two years or so of not buying any gear, I may indulge myself and buy a monosynth ...

Heck, now that I will soon have crap gear once more, I may even start posting here again lol ...

he's been talking about doing this for a while now.

Really, J.? When and where?

I thought this was a closely guarded military secret ...

EDIT: Yeah ... now that I think of it, I did almost sell JP8 last year ...

The Jupiter-8 has been sold ... All told just a little over $6,000 got a man in New Hampshire a flight case with a low-serial number Jupiter-8 ... It was his wedding this weekend ... When he gets back from Maui, the second honeymoon starts ... :)

$6000, pretty awesome price in this economy. That guy is lucky man though.

Don Solaris said I could have gotten $8k ... I'm not as sure but whatever ... At heart, I'm not a numbers guy and ultimately I prefer to not be moneycentric ...

Stay tuned for my revealing "Life After JP8" thread ...

Howard Jones uses Jupiter 8V while on tour. The software is actually more reliable than the hardware.

Good enough for him, maybe it'll fill the void if you want that sound again.

About this time last year I also considered selling JP8 but I hadn't recorded my third album yet, THE END OF TECHNOLOGY ...

At the time I took the rare step of downloading and demoing JP8V which I concluded was more of a tribute than an emulation ... especially when trying to use it to actually make new sounds is where the 8V really falls flat ... Everything that sounds good was somebody's choice and they are not the totally-out-there outer sonic limits of Jupiter-8 ...

But eventually if enough people start appreciating that side of Jupiter-8, maybe those behaviors can be programmed better ....

OMG ... I wouldn't tour with Jupiter-8 ... There's just too much inside ... They are at that stage they need to be babied ...

I am looking at modern analog monosynths like MFB Synth II and the yet-to-be-released SE Boomstar and others (which are a fraction of the amount I got for my "nice-priced" Jupiters as well as a sliver of their footprint) ... I almost always used both Jupiters in unison mode anyway ...

I'm also going to get a new studio computer ... but I'm not rushing into anything ...
