It's loads of fun, got knobs, takes six AA batteries and fits between one's legs...

I don't understand why ppl diss it, OK I do, but it's a little 303-ish thing with a speaker and a MS-10/20 filter and loads of fun. Mine is modded for midi, neeners, makes it 5x better!

Compared to paperback book and pony, I love this little thing. Cheap as hell, fun, powerful and gets me away from the computer. Took it on vacation, making little acid trax right now.

Ouch. But, you have to remember the original bags and cases probably didn't sell well and are hard to find outside of Japan.

I've heard that red and blue units tend to fade.

I honestly bought it for two reasons:

1. To pose with in photos, as I take a badass-yet-realistic stage name and craft a new identity to fit the music I plan on making.

2. To be my main bass machine. MKS-80 excels at slamming unison and complex basses, but on simpler basses is nowhere near as tight as SH-101 or Juno-60, which allow compound waveforms (beating/phasing-free bass), get more focused resonance, and have a better envelope shape.

It's limited, but so is the bass guitar.

I think the Monotribe hate stems from those who wanted a new analog keyboard.

The SH-101 is a damn near perfect bass machine as 1-osc synths goes. The only things I'd take over it would be a Juno 6/60 or a 303 and the 303 mainly because the sequencer is so cool. But the 101 programmable arp/sequencer is loads of fun. I miss mine (it was cheap and a pretty sorry specimen.)

aw man, Z1, wantwantwantwantwant

It's funny. I waited years for one to show up on local CL because I didn't want to buy from Ebay and have it shipped.

Wouldn't you know it, TWO of them showed up on CL in the same week.

Out just went an Intellijel hexVCA. A FOH Sound of Shadows will go on loan with the option to buy to a fellow wiggler who is local. A Make Noise Echophon is shipping to me today from AH

I had the opportunity to play with one of these about a week and a half ago and in my opinion was awsome enough to order one for my system Besides all the cool feedback and pitch shifting and the large range of delay time, I think it is the first Euro delay module that will sync to a clock signal (clock is like a tap tempo). James Cigler has an excellent in-depth demo on his Vimeo channel.

I also put myself on the waiting list for an Intellijel Rubicon when they arrive at AH - eta is a couple of weeks.

Mine arrived today.

Good news: The physical condition is excellent.

Bad news: Some functional issues - keytracking is off on the oscillator, and causes filter to open all the way up when slider is up more than halfway, And, the square output is bleeding.

EDIT: Tested with a different adapter - my OneSpot (US voltage). Square bleed is gone, now it's just noisy. Might as well get the PSA-120 (US voltage).
