OT: A disclaimer about my new gig

Hello!

I've always tried to let everybody know where I work, given I also moderate / patrol these forums. I lost my self-control once in a very stupid way but the other 99.98% of the times I did my best to not lose my cool when someone simply did not like / trashed a product of my employer. On the other hand, I always try to help when someone posts a honest question / complaint about such products.

So, here I am, with a full disclaimer again:

(1) I stopped working for AVID Technology, Inc. back on July 20th. When they sold M-AUDIO to inMusic, a lot of employees were let go and I was among them.

So, from now on, I will only reply to whatever Pro Tools questions you may have, as a user. A experimented one, but now without any kind of connection to its manufacturer, policies, pricing, product development, support, etc. The same applies for the "Fast Track" and "Mbox" line of audio interfaces.

(2) I started working today, August 6th, 2012, for inMusic as their Product Specialist for Latin America. That means I will be handling business for the brands Akai Pro, Numark, Alesis, Alto and M-Audio.

So, I will keep supporting everything related to M-Audio for Latin America, but now together with all the other brands. While I am fully experienced with my beloved M-Audio line, I am yet to learn a lot about all the other brands, so if you guys have questions please be patient while I can get answers for you all :D

There, I said it.

I am not
that
familiar yet with the current product line-up, but I guess that traditionally, it has been, right? Remember those wonderful hardware samplers and the MPC line?

And their utterly hardcore rackmount multitrack recorders. I had a DR4d and later, a fully-loaded DR16 with ADAT, SMPTE, MIDI, and VGA/mouse/keyboard boards. IIRC, the 2GB hard drive cost $900.

Sonically, it sounded better than any DAW I've used since (PT MIXplus, PT|HD with Apogee AD8000, Apogee Symphony, etc.).

Was also once a power user of the amazing S5000/6000 series. Still have my S5000 in a closet somewhere, as it's not really worth anything anymore. :( I think Sigur R

What??? They will launch a new Andromeda A6???

:thu:

There's very little they could do to improve it. The only thing it could be to be considered to be lacking might be the polyphonic aftertouch that never got implemented.

I would like to see Alesis come out with some kind of board besides their current controllers though.

Congrats on the new position Gus.
