Roland Jupiter-50 Demo Videos - In Progress

Several months ago - at least - I assured folks here that I'd provide some demos of the Jupiter-50.

Sorry, but it's been a crazy few months, and my mind hasn't really been into my keyboards, music, or even online forums.  I've changed jobs - not without a fair amount of drama - and my new gig has me traveling out of town several days a week.  This will change as time goes on, but for the moment it's rough.

I've also had ongoing maintenance issues with the house, plus wonderful visits from my children (and wanting to spend time with them when I'm home and while they're home).  My son managed to snag a free ride through grad school, and has been visiting with us, following a hike around England with a friend of his.  My daughter gratuated from undergrad last month and is starting med school in three weeks (NOT a free ride).

Anyhow, I have managed to spend probably 100-150 hours with the Jupiter-50 during the past several months - there is much to try and understand/grasp with this keyboard.  I have found myself tweaking quite a few of the presets and saving edited versions to my liking.  This weekend I've spent several hours recording demos of the pianos and electric pianos, and am happy with my work.  I am tempted to post a video of nothing but these pianos, but would prefer to present these sounds within the context of everything the Jupiter-50 can do.  And time spent editing/assembling a video like that would take away from time better spent recording other patches.

Anyhow, I am REALLY excited about what I'm doing, and am (somewhat surprisingly) STILL enthused with the Jupiter-50.  I do wish I'd spent the extra bucks for a Jupiter-80, but that's another story.  :)

I had the same impression when I went in to play the Jupiter 50 and 80.  If I were going to buy the 50, I'd go ahead and spring for the 80, if only for the aftertouch and a few other things.  Hell, even my XP-30 has aftertouch.

I think that if Roland would put something like the 80 into a full featured workstation it would sell pretty well.  I also wonder how many Jupiter 50s and 80s they've sold to date.  I know quite a few keyboard players, and to my knowledge none of them has bought a Jupiter.  If they blew out the 80 for 2 grand (I know, wishful thinking) I'd consider it.
