Members Geno_xl
Just wondering if this happens to anyone besides me. It seems like whenever I have an idea for a song I'm always in love with it the first day. However, the next day it may be the worst song I have ever heard. This is usually how I pick my good songs from the bad. Typically, if I like the song the day after I wrote it, then its a keeper...Is this just me? Members guitarsforlunch
That definitely happens to me sometimes - I'll get caught up in the moment when writing a song. When I go back later to listen to it (I usually do quick demo recordings) I may or may not like it. Also, I've experienced the opposite effect sometimes. I'll be working on a song for a while and then quit working on it becuase I think the song's terrible then some days, months, or even years later, I'll come across it again and think the song was incredible. Sometimes you just need to listen to a song with a clear mind and fresh ears to adequately judge it. Also, try playing the song for friends and family to get their reactions. Remeber though that they will usually not criticize you if they think it's really bad. Strangers reaction to your music will most likely be more honest. Very true. I've come across songs that I'd forgotten about (even forgot about writing them) and then realized that I really liked them. Gotta keep that stuff around!
