I listened to 3 of the 4 tunes (didn't listen to Green Latern...). I have to agree w/TA on this one, your friend is very talented. I wasn't crazy about the vocals, but thats more a style thing than anything else. It'd be interesting to hear these tunes with fuller arrangements.

Anyways, thumbs up.

Very nice.

Very well-played piano. Nice voice, although not recorded all that well--Not poorly, just not as well as it could be. The songs are good; of course he will be compared to Ben Folds--There just aren't that many people with whom to compare him. Personally, I'd like to hear the songs fleshed out a bit. Some drums and bass, maybe a little guitar would really bring these songs to life.

Good luck.

They might but the guy may well have to back off his piano style a little and thin it out ... so it doesnt muck up with the guitars ..

Keys are a unique instrument in the fact that they can provide all three voices at one time by one player ... melody. rhythm and bass. Part of the trick of playing keys is not creathing conflicts in the mix ........ rat

I could not agree more. It is difficult to do, but if it is done well, then it can be superb. Otherwise it will just sounds like a lounge act. I think anyway...

Your friend is very very talented - pass along my kudos....

Vocals seem panned left and piano towards the right with the backups. Separation is good.

The vocals could use a bit less something - I'll say sibilence maybe - lots of shh sounds coming in my phones.

Piano and overall performance are great.....

This guys page is familiar to me. I think I may already have this guy as a friend on my Myspace, although it's hard to even keep track anymore.

It seems like his vocals are a tad bit heavy on the auto-tune pitch correction--there seems to be a very processed 'vocoder' effect to his vocals at times. Not sure if this was intentional.

Anyway, this guy has a pretty interesting style. Overall, nice work.
