"I See The Truth" @myspace @soundclick

Constructive criticism please. I am not looking for comments on production, it is just a home demo solely for myself. Although I do think it came out quite good considering my acoustic guitar, keyboard, and bass probaly total $100 combined brand new, and everything was recorded DI into the soundcard of a peice of junk pc. :p

Not traditional in any sense of the word......

What are the lyrics? I couldn't get to them... (Sounded like "Redrum" in several spots)

I'm really not sure how to think about it. It's - different....

I really can't judge this as a song, because its so far outside of what I do...

I wish I could offer a better review..

Thanks for sharing.

hi,

have you ever listened to raj kapor, a famous hindustani singer, actor etc...do you listen to norwegian or oriental music?

wel, this song, although poorly produced, is perhaps the only song ? have so far find any attachment with.I dont care about the meaning of the lyrics, ? didnt understand a word you say but ? only hope that they are completely meaningless.

yes, the song is not developed much, does not provide variation and perhaps could be a little more rich in orchestration but:

I love the mood, the feel you have created through the vocal and the very simple keyboard accompanyment. This is what ? have been looking for for a long time in what ? hear in these forums.

whatever people may say keep that vocal style and melody prefence for ever.

the song only needs a better production and some variation in some places.for instance at about 2:00 and a more dynamic change at about 3:10.

I loved it.

thanks for listening. They are just temporary lyrics I wrote quickly for the demo, but here they are:

Led through the barren night

Yet I walk along

I see a ray of light

I see the truth

Leave me alone

My crippled angel

Leave me alone

Your just a skeleton clay

But I follow you

I see right through you

I see the truth

Leave me alone

My devil child

Leave me alone

Every myth emits holes

and Every hole unviels the truth

Thanks. I am glad you liked it. I am not fimiliar with raj kapor, and my musical knowledge in norwegian and oriental is very narrow to be honest. Although I have enjoyed the little I have heard from that genre. This song is very different for me. I did not intend for it to sound like anything specific, that is just what was in my head at the time I guess. I really cant pinpoint it to any kind of musical influence I have. Thanks for the constructive criticism as well. I will certainly consider all your comments when it comes time to finalize all my demo rough drafts for the studio. Like I mentioned, it is just a home demo recorded for myself so I know the production is nothing impressive. That keyboard riff will be replaced with a violin when it is recorded seriously for an album as well.

Not the kind of music that I listen to ordinarily. I found it confoundingly appealing both in the production (cool lo-tech) and in the sinuous foreign sounding melody. Had a nice groove with some suprises too. Listened to a bit of another song on your soundclick site with "better" production and preferred "I See The Truth". The lyric you've posted is mysteriously evocative and I sense appropriate for the song although I could not make out any of those lyrics as I listened. If your intention as a vocalist is to enunciate obtusely you've succeeded in that. As Janus suggested it might not matter anyway. Overall a successful musical vision.

I like the fact that it sounds different than most of the music out there. I see that you selected the genre as "Grunge", and it does remind me of Cobain's vocal stylings, but maybe a louder part would be appropriate somewhere towards the end of the song. Not that I care about genre specifications, I just thought it would work in the context of this particular song.

I listened to both of them and ? agree this is far better than both and..

that has made all the difference for me.whatever it was that pushed you in this direction stick to it.

I must have listened to it for 20 or thirty times untill now.I havent done that even to any of my "favorites" for a long time.may ? have it??s there a place where ? can download it?

?ts a very special song and let me explain my concern.I have all the albums of "Styx" (spelled correctly right?) and for me they have only composed one song in total.?ts the one that goes "take me down to my boat on the river".

I hope its not only a tiny aberration in your musical adventure.

uppps ? gorgot something.this is Raj Kapor in his most famos movie "avara".

Here is a link to download the song. I See the Truth

thanks again for the compliments. and thanks for the Raj Kapor link. I wasnt able to find any of his music doing a google search yesterday. Perhaps when it comes time to record this song seriously I could try to incorporate another instrument or sound associated with that middle eastern? style of music. Not that the song sticks to any one genre throughout but it wouldnt be a bad idea to further bring out that specific aspect of the writing. It can help it stand out as different (for me anywyay) even more.
