Members D-drone
Quell - http://download.yousendit.com/D0CEBC8D53912C2A This is essentially an acoustic 'shell' version of what will be recorded professionally as a full band track. We're tossing between doing this and another much rockier song as a single release. Comments very welcome. Members blue2blue
It has a nice power/garage pop kind of feel in this acoustic form. The refrain is pretty hooky. I'm afraid the "she didn't know / she didn't show" part was the only bit of the lyrics I really absorbed, so I'll have to reserve comment on the lyrics. Even with the understanding that you're undoubtedly going to fill this in and that lots of choruses on the outro is typical for the genre, I still thought it fell just a little long at 4 minutes. But I'll admit it, I tend to think that if a song goes over 3 minutes and change it better be angling to be the next Desolation Row... Which is actually kind of funny since, when I was a kid, I'd look at the back of an unfamiliar band's albums and if I saw a bunch of 3 minutes songs -- and there wasn't at least one 6 minute plus epic -- I'd figure they were far too lightweight to warrant my attention... But that's a minor quibble, really. Anyhow, I think it sounds like it's got a strong structure and features and is properly hooky. I think you'll end up with a pretty good song.
