Eli's Dilemma

I'm not usually at a loss for words, but...

I have some lines here that have been in my notebook for over a year now that are too good to throw out, but they have me stumped.

She was raised up

Like a good girl

With her plaid skirts

And her church school

Always did what momma told her to

I guess it's a rock n roll song, but I have tried to take it a dozen different directions, tried to fit it into other projects, but I got nothing.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do with this?

Problem 2: I desperately need a collaborator. My musical skills are weak at best and the frustration of not being able to get things completed is killing me. If anyone is interested or knows someone looking for lyrics, let me know.

see if this gives you some direction.

I don't have my guitar in hand, but mess with the lyrics a bit

She was a good girl

Daddy's lil girl raise on small town dreams

Catholic school skirts

And Every school boys dream

She always did what she was told

but now she's growing up so fast

dance in the bars, walking the streets at mid night past the cars

Turning trick for cash, a lil good girl has made at last.

Tonight she

You mean like "Once Bitten Twice Shy" by Great White?

Similar, I think. I'm not familiar with that song, but if I read the lyrics correctly, that song seems to focus more on the girl's travails in that lifestyle.

I was thinking more of focusing on the relationship between the two leading up to her "change" and how that affected the guy. I kind of like the "What's a good boy supposed to do" angle.

This line, or pair, comes to mind:

In the first verse,

Did the right things

In the right way

Upon her knees

Always saying "Jesus, help me please"

Then later:

Now she's on her knees

But not to pray

Kind of risque for me, but it seems to work.
