Hey guys, I haven't posted her in a while, but I have been writing a lot, and, I'll cut to the chase, I recorded 3 songs for a lady friend, and I wanted to know your opinion.

You can find the tracks on the myspace

www.myspace.com/Junonband

1. The Glass Shatters

Shes a nightmare, and I'm just a bore

and we shattered her love on the kitchen floor

she was screamin nevermore

Shes to quirky wearin' my pants

and her clothes are lyin' by my bed

It's messin with my head

Oooooooooh I was shakin' too

Nooooooooo the nerves cant take a clue

But you've seen it before when they were crawlin back

Yeah you've seen it before the boys were houndin you

Shes just singing minding her blues

When the voice of an angel cried to soon

She was drunk this afternoon

Shes like no other, and I really love her

But you cant always get what you want

another soul to haunt

chorus x2

2. I see the pretty in you (we met in the library)

Hi, won't you hold my hand

She said as we stand

in the library

Look, wont you look my way

aahhhhh, ahhh, I wanna be with you

Ooooh, Ohhh, I wanna be with you x2

Watch, as this goes sour,

I'll spend my hours, just thinkin bout you

But wait, it's saturday,

we'll ride the bikes, so far away

Chorus

We, had so much fun

where did I {censored} up, as you wave goodbye

He'll, steal you away,

so I wanna say,

That I love your sway

Chorus

The third song is a Daniel Johnston/Beach House cover.

Looking forward to any input, thanks guys.

im really really liking your stuff - have you heard of mercury rev? you remind me of them, with a slight twist of Bright Eyes and Eels

all id like to hear more would be a bit of escalation in the song, change of dynamics, just to keep me listening and give a bit of contrast.

keep it up!

and plus you have the exact same birthday as me (hurray for being 18 FINALLY)

haha

I like Glass Shatters a lot. At first I didn't know what was going on with the vocal processing you're doing, but I really like whatever you're doing to edit the vocals. It reminds me of Animal Collective a bit (if you've heard of them).

This feels to me like a straightforward pop song that has been given some shoegaze/psychadelic treatment. And I love it.

Yeah, I love Animal Collective, the vocal processing on the songs was just a vocal preset in garageband, I think it's some verb and maybe a tremolo or flanger effect? But yeah, thats basically what I was going for, simple pop song with a bit more, uh, psych vibe? Glad you liked it, thanks for the input.

Really dig The Glass Shatters. Has that little bit extra in it that keeps it from being a plain ole pop song. Dig the ending.

What is that xylophone sounding thing in the intro to "I see the pretty in you"? It reminds me of Little Wing. I've gotta say Nirv, your songwriting has really progressed in the last year. You got that perfect mix of pop and psych/gaze as someone else stated. It isn't too obviously pop, or too cheesy psychadelic, its the right mix dude.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it, it's great to know that people are understanding what exactly I'm trying to make, which is a mix of Pop and Psych. The instrument in I see the pretty in you is a little glockenspiel I bought from musicians friend for 20 dollars.

Are you releasing these songs on any sort of album soon?

These 3 songs that I posted right now were actually an album I made for a girl called "A love, a leaf and a Lee" and by album I mean I tagged the files, added some cover art and numbered them haha. Hopefully Junon (the band) will record our demo album soon, it's just been pretty painstaking as we've switched recording programs so much, and lost data. But we're pretty set on recording in Garageband now, so now we just need to get together and lay down some tracks. :thu:
