Hello peers I am neanderpaul. I usually do a one man band live looping gig like this.

http://www.youtube.com/neanderpaul#p/u/5/_SRcysjX1j4

I do pop, rock, hard rock, spoken word, a capella, instrumental, country, etc etc.

I was looking to introduce myself here and get a critique on the song "let it go". It can be heard on my profile at bandmix.com It is the second song of 4 on the list. An 18 year old friend played drums. I played everything else - guitar, wurlitzer, bass, drums, and sang it.

I'm happy to return the favor!:thu:

Greetings Neanderpaul.

I could critique this but it is more live than polished anyway. So I would rather just mention what I kind of liked or whatever. You have a nice approach to looping but keep in mind my opinion is rarely mainstream as I often have tastes for the odd or the B-side of music.

"You made your bed" stands out to me even though it sounds like a rough draft so to speak but I liked the song a lot. "Nothing but wrong" is next on my list, maybe because I like this style of music? Don't get me wrong, music I listen to is not narrow in scope. "Let it go" was not so much my cup of tea. Do a good studio version of "You made your Bed" with a good mix and better vocal effects (maybe embellish it but only a little). Good song.

Cheers! :poke:

let it go...great hook.seems like it should be in a movie. If it was my song and i played it back i'd trim the intro and outro and tweak a couple lines.

i've listened to this song a dozen times now.it's so poppy and great and is a haircut away from being a little slice of pure power pop heaven. The hook is already exactly that.

Neanderpaul - welcome -

I just started listening (You Made Your Bed) and I'll probably add more later - but it's real good...

I've been thinking a lot lately of using my Jamman more to the max for drums etc. in a live context like you're doing - and you're doing it great with vocal harmonies and everything. (My problem though is that my songwriting has a lot of more extreme musical changes)...

Are you running the Jamman straight into the PA, to get vocals and guitars looping? And does that mean you're not using a guitar amp at all?

If you don't mind, tell about your setup a little - that's really interesting and I am looking at doing something very similar. (As you might be able to tell, I spend most of my time in the effects forum!)

And the 1st song is great to - kinda spoken word into a catchy harmony chorus - with cool ambient guitar. It's different than what I usually listen to but I really like.
