Members stickboymusic
Well i've had this song knocking round a while but didn't really know what to do with it. Hopefully this works for you. The second song about a songbird? hmmm i think this one lead to the other one but the other ended up coming first... confusing http://soundcloud.com/stickboy/songbird-new Songbird There's a songbird sitting in the tree outside my windowAnd it's playing me a song to take away my sorryIt's a song of joy and peace and a new tomorrowA reminder to return all the love that I have borrowed 'cos it all makes more sense when you smileor a song takes you away just for a whilegetting lost in its melody and wordsyeh it all makes senseyeh it all makes sense. So where do you go to when you're lonesome?Do you hide yourself away until the morning?Well me I put my records on and close my eyesAnd find myself in a place of clearer skies 'cos it all makes more sense when you smileor a song takes you away just for a whilegetting lost in its melody and wordsyeh it all makes senseyeh it all makes sense. When the time does come to rest my little bodythe bird will return to sing for everybodyso bury me with music 'neath the old oak treeand play me a song to hold me in your memory 'cos it all makes more sense when you smileor a song takes you away just for a whilegetting lost in its melody and wordsyeh it all makes senseyeh it all makes sense. Members grace_slick
Isn't it hideous when someone replies to your stuff but then you realise it's just a spammer type? UGH! I didn't see this thread until now, somehow! As ALWAYS, I adore your songs...this song is so cute. Until I heard it, I kept expecting a slow, sad-type song like Songbird (Christine McVie / Fleetwood Mac, and others following), but nope! This is really nice and upbeat... I LOVE the guitar and the harmonies that come in for the chorus. Have you had your music go "out there"? In the public I mean? I know someone on here has their stuff in commercials or TV shows or something...is that you? I can't remember. But if it is you, I'm not surprised in the least. Your music to me seems somewhat like a really sweet, more melodic or something version of some of Mumford & Sons stuff...but it's completely unique as well. Love it!! Members blue2blue
Hey, Stick, I've been trying to get around to sit down with this for a good listen for a couple days, now. I like the theme of the song quite a bit... I think the for a while part is key to the message -- those moments when a song or some bit of music just drops your mood into place for a few glorious moments and the world is right. (Of course, sometimes it's more the music of the spheres than actual music... sunlight on the leaves, a gentle breeze... all that groovy stuff.) One rough spot -- the little body/everybody rhyme... this is one of those rare instances when a tricky/potentially problematic rhyme actually looks better on paper than it sounds -- and it looks pretty iffy. Maybe it just wants a re-singing. Still, I'm thinking it just calls too much attention to itself. Sometimes that can work, affording a little more ironic distance. But sometimes it can stop the flow. I'd consider working with the phrasing on the vocal or maybe rewriting that bit. But, otherwise, it's a charming little slice of sunshine!
Members JohnBenussi
Yeah, this song is just like I don't know...Sunshine! It's just warm, bright and soothing! One thing though, I don't know what you changed butthe vocals are too hot (EQ) You might want to turndown the treble or higher frequencies becauseif my Sony MDR (highly compressed sound) headphonesmake a noise with every *S* you do it's too hot...
