Members medallion39
Sometimes reading some of the lyrics here without music I get a melody of how to sing it. Therefore my question is does anyone have any lyrics I could play around with? If this is a big no no to ask please let me know. Of course this would be for fun, not trying to profit off of others works unless it was a legally agreed collaboration. Thanks:)
Members LCK
I've done this before (not here), and in one case I had to rewrite my lyric to fit the rhythm of the tune. In another case, the composer captured every single one of my lyrical rhythms perfectly. I have some old, tuneless lyrics lying around. What kind of songs do you generally write? Members medallion39
I'm not bound to any style. I'm fairly limited instrumentally, except drums, so even if I intend one style it may end up being another.
Members jennaentrust
Is there a large market for song writers? I mean I live in New York and it seems like everyone here is a singer or songwriter? Is there really enough work to go around?
Members Mahuska
Elton John did it with Bernie. I guess there are people here to team up with. I am new so can't really say regarding this forum. Some poets turned songwriters make it hard to write melodies to. I have a very close friendthat I though he might benefit using a different approach. His melodies suffered because of the long passages(lyrics). I know I would have a hard time doing the music to it. He is a great poet. When he riffed out some guitar parts and melodies first, his songs really took off. I know there are many good approaches and mixing up the formula helps when things get stale
Members LCK
Wrote this a while back. Had a Steely Dan jazz/blues/funk thing in mind, maybe a bit of Mose Allison. I don't know if appeals to anyone here, but it's worth throwing out... "Swami's Got the Blues" Hello, pilgrim, welcome to our little club. Hello, pilgrim, welcome to our little club.
