Here's this month's
Official Showcase Thread
where you can post your
completed projects
, links to
finished works
(even
old
ones) you want your pals here in the SW forum to hear,
promo videos
, covers of other people's songs, or just generally
shameless self-hype
that you're
far too professional
and courteous to post in the main forum.

Okay, here's my Christmas song (or one of them).

Leaves of brown have tumbled down.

And now, my love, you're leavin' town.

I'll stick aroun' and buy a gift or two.

Christmas is the season to be blue.

While choirs croon a joyful tune

you'll hear me howling at the moon

at some saloon on Humbug Avenue.

Christmas is the season to be blue.

A shepherd on my shelf just lost a sandal.

And I can't handle all this Christmas cheer.

I think tonight I just might light a candle

and pray next year, you'll stay right here.

(piano solo)

I caught a cold but now I'm feelin' better.

Thanks for the sweater. It really cures the blahs.

I think tonight I just might write a letter

to Santa Claus, and that's because

I've got a list of things I've missed.

And even if he does exist

I still insist I've reason for the view

that Christmas is the season to be blue.

Even Santa's little elves

spend Christmas by themselves.

Christmas is the season to be blue.

As you all may know I am fortunate to be involved in a collabortive venture at a 'real studio'. How cool is that, right? Gives me a chance to really mess things up.:wave:

We have recently produced a tune by a local singer/songwriter that I would love a critique on. My illustrious partner tracked this gentleman playing his acoustic and doing vocals. We then proceeded...with his permission...to make it a much bigger production.

Is this fun....or what?

I had some serious fun with this one as I didn't have to play or sing.....just got to try on my producer hat and chime in when I was not smiling.

Look Around

Just look around, see life abounding

Just look around, it's quite astounding

Hearts beating, lives taken

Beautiful and devestating

The never-ending urge to be

The strong survive, the weak will pass

But the strong become, weak at last

Hearts beating, lives taken

Beautiful and, devestating

The never-ending urge to be

A constant struggle to be

Bridge

Just by chance

Or a carefully crafted dance

You're free to believe, what you will

But I believe it's no accident

The never-ending urge to be

A constant struggle to be

Just look around

Just look around you

That's a nice tune, Len, especially when the drums come in I found myself bobbing my head along.

I have to admit I really don't like the singer voice. I really wish you had sung it and he had used his range for some choice high harmonies. He doesn't have your delivery skills.

Just got off the phone with my partner from over at Joe's Place where we have all of our fun. He was thrilled to read your comments about the drums as countless hours went into getting them to groove like that. At one point last week we stripped this tune down to just drums and his bass and we were both boppin' around the control room big time.

We also got some serious laughs about the thought of me doing the vox for this one. I appreciate that thought my friend.

Thanks for checking this one out.

A few demos from my awesome new band, which is kind of like 60s songs through a 90s filter. I play lead guitar, do arrangements (and fake drums), occasionally sing. The two girls swap rhythm/bass when the usual bassist sings lead vocals.

Little Itch

Riding Along

Steal You

Little One

I'm so not used to singing harmonies, plus I have to sing higher than my usual. We haven't recorded any of my songs yet. I've been a Belly kick lately and I think it is painfully obvious, especially in the first song.

(It's also ironic that both of the girls are syllable-mashers in their own songs. I would never do that in my songs but I don't mind them doing it.)
