Members U&I
Decided to try my hand at a remix - got me out of a creative funk I must say.I never normally work with vocals at all (I do instrumental work) so this was a bit of a challenge for me but I am quite pleased with the end result and my final arrangement. Here's the original - OL-V4E8fveA And here's my somewhat bastardised version of it - Olivia Broadfield Say Remix - From the Album "This beautiful war" In G major @ 90BPM's. I have a newfound respect for all you peeps who work with conventional song structure I must confess - would really love to work with a vocalist (songwriter) on more material in the future I think.Having a more conventional structure as a frame of reference is a real eye opener and getting vocals to sit well in a mix is an art form in itself. Members rsadasiv
Unclear on what the remix is bringing to the table. Why this remix for that song?
Members blue2blue
Hi, U&I! This had a pleasant, late 90s trip hop/downtempo sound. I'm not familiar with the artist or the original, so, really, unable to give comments on your remix, but I see she's an established English singer. Let me slip on the moderator's hat here for a second to point out that, since this is an on-topic-only, work-oriented forum devoted to original songwriting, we've had to draw some lines, and, unfortunately, to avoid getting snowed by the efforts of non-songwriters -- since there are a lot more non-songwriters than there are writers -- we've had to draw that line short of covers, remixes and such. If you'd like to check out the Forum Guidelines, take a quick glance at the first post in this thread. But I'd like to welcome you to bring in your new, original works in progress (instrumentals or vocals) for critique and feedback! With that in mind, I'm afraid I'm going to have to close this thread, but I recommend those reading this and looking for some very pleasant folkish post-trip hop to listen to your attractive remix.
