Members JimDC
Hello fellow songwriters! I am currently working on a song in which I am 100% certainly going to keep the VCVCB format up to the bridge, in which the drums drop out at least at the beginning of the bridge. My problem is where to go from there, and I've been trying different ideas with no structure really exciting me. So, I'm looking for songs in which the drums stop in the bridge of a VCVCB format, to try and gather structural ideas. Two that came to mind are: Radiohead - 'Let Down'Coldplay - 'In My Place' Each song goes from the bridge into a building outro, which I've experimented with. However, currently, after a few bars of the drums dropped out, and a delicate guitar arpeggio, I'm going into a second half of the bridge based on the verse/chorus, but without any lyrics, THEN seguing into a 3rd V/C. But, it completely falls flat here. I'm thinking I should maybe find a way to keep the energy of the bridge, to close out the song, but I'm kinda stuck. Maybe it should end on a "quiet" 3rd V, without the 3rd chorus? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Members Oswlek
My song "Pangaea" does that. If you're looking for something a little more well know, here is a good song where the drums drop off on the bridge. They do come back before the bridge ends, so it may no meet your criteria perfectly. [video=youtube;xv6AeVgoP5s]
