Sound Quality

[Perceived output level] Without kidding it is off the scale, it's unmeasurable according to Seymour Duncan...Believe them, it's true! [Tone] Loads of mids, Bass can get muddy unless you EQ it properly and it's slightly towards the treble side (great for lead and depending on your guitar's body wood, great for melodic riffs) [Sonic evaluation] Currently putting it through a Peavy Rage 158 because my shitty 120 watt hohner thingy got blewn up (not due to this pickup), will be buying a Line 6 Spider II 212 soon but anyway. I also use a Boss MT-2 for the perfectionistic distortion I have [For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable] I play as described before melodic black thrash metal with a touch of death, and it's a perfect match, pickup is Bridge only it would fuck up in the neck position

General Comments

[Comments] If it were destroyed or stolen I'de kill the {censored}er that did it, if that's not possible I'de immediatly buy the same guitar and put the LiveWire in the bridge again, I've been playing for over 2 years now and I know that seems short but I'm a guitar geek, I was constantly searching for my sound and I found it because of this pickup, now all that needs replacing is the neck pickup (why do stock pickup's nearly always suck?). I compared it mostly to an EMG 81 (which is number 2 on the bridge pickup list in my list that is) but this one has more of a unique sound, nearly no band uses it and because of the high output it may take some tweeking with the EQ but you will definetly achieve the tone you've been looking for if you play extreme metal, be carefull though, don't turn your amp up til' 80% volume because you will definetly blow it up with this pickup, don't care if you have a marshall or a crappy peavey amp like I have, the cabinets just aren't able to handle it, on the otherside who is stupid enough to turn an amp up til' 80% volume? If this pickup suits your style, there is definetly no better one available
