wiring mod

okay so i started out with a strat-style guitar, but with only one tone knob. so it was 3 single pickups, 1 volume and 1 tone.

then i got bored and wanted a change, got my hands on some humbuckers and whacked them in at the neck and the bridge and kept the single in the middle.

but i kept using all the old electronics parts and as they were crappy to start with they are even crappier now. so i;ve currently got a 5 way switch in it but i only use 3 point of it, neck/middle/bridge i dont use neck+middle of middle+bridge. so if i got a tele 3 way switch would i be able to just use that?

bascially im ordering new electronic parts, i was thinking 500K pots too

you wouldnt be able to use a tele switch. A tele switch works like this:

Pos 1: Bridge

Pos 2: Bridge+Neck

Pos 3: Neck

definently go with 500k pots, unless you like the sound you have now. 500k just add more resistance and more beefyness to the humbuckers. I have heard of people adding 500k's to single coils to make it thicker
