Members cx04332 Posted August 16, 2006 Members Share Posted August 16, 2006 The three mounting screws go through the plate and are threaded into the pick up base. There are springs that go on each screw between the base and the bottom of the plate. The neck pickup uses two screws through the pick guard in a similiar fashion. Hope this helps. Members gtrmac Posted August 17, 2006 Members Share Posted August 17, 2006 The original screws are self tapping. They cut their own threads into the basplate of the pickup. You have to hold the pickup against the screws while you turn them and they will thread into the baseplate. the baseplate is made out of some kind of fiberboard.
