Members Killa J
I eventually want to build my own speaker cab, but I want to make it out of nice looking wood and not cover it w/ tolex. I would like to build it somewhat similar to this cab, but I have no clue where to find good looking wood in sizes large enough to make a cab. I haven't seen anything like it at hardware stores, just plain old plywood.
Members Quarter
You should have a hardwood dealer somewhere in your area, the place where cabinet shops get their material.
Members DivebombInc
Yeah, check out a hardwood dealer in your area. The one I have here in Houston will glue it up and plain it to thickness if you need that. I've considered doing that myself.

Cabinet grade wood is what you want. The only reason I ask, is because top shelf wood is damned expensive. The stuff is typically sold by the 'board foot', and priced according to what grade it is. A wood like say.....maple, could cost at least 4-6 bucks per bd/ft, and if you are buying off the internet, there are minimum quantities to consider. (10 -20 bd/ft) Here's an FAQ from one supplier I found: http://www.internetlumber.com/Home/GeneralQuestions.aspx
