Y cable buffer

Not quite a Y cable but I added a second out put to my volume pedal by wiring a jack in parallel to the input plug. This is so that I can run my tuner outside of the effects chain. I wired it to the input so I could still use the tuner with volume at nil.

Works great and the tuner now no longer sucks tone. My problem is that it does now had a small hum. A can make my rig silent with My NS2 as it just a low level hum that is only realy noticable on high gain when when not playing. (but volume up obviously).

Is there a simple wa to isolate this output so the tuner doesnt effect the input to the tuner?

The tuner is not at all outside the chain, I'm afraid. It now sits in parallel with the next input stage after the volume pedal, which lowers the apparent input impedance the guitar pickups "sees". This is exactly the same setup that causes wah pedals, old MXR and E-H pedals etc to suck tone...

The only way to properly remove a tuner from the chain (aside from yanking it out ;)) is to use an A/B box. That way, the tuner is gone when you're not using it, and the chain is muted when you're tuning.
