Members rocknrao
I want to bypass the amp section on a Fender Champion 110, and make it so that I can use it as a cabinet. My idea was to disconnect the wires from the speaker, attach them to a 1/4" jack, and then attach a second 1/4" jack to the speaker. I suppose I would also need to drill holes in the cabinet somewhere to accomodate the jacks. Is this a good idea, and if so will it be difficult to do? What tools will I need? Moderators isaac42 Posted May 18, 2007 Moderators Share Posted May 18, 2007 You'll have to decide for yourself whether or not it's a good idea, but it's certainly doable. For tools, you'll need a drill, the proper size bit, wire strippers and a soldering iron. Shouldn't be difficult.
Members TweedBassman
yup. you can put a 1/4" jack replacing the speaker, and a 1/4" in jack that goes to the speaker. then, you can use just the speaker, or just the head. when you want a combo, just use a small jumper cable. you can wire it differently to "revert" back to a combo when there's no cable present, but that's a little harder.
