Well, first it was you lovely people who got to hear my voice...then it was some friends online...then my partner, which was HUGE for me...

The other day I sent a really close work colleague some of my stuff, and she was AMAZED since she had no idea I even sang or was into music much before that.

So...yeah. Doing good. Still working on my songs...I'm SO grateful and pleased and still quite amazed that I've gotten so much positive feedback and such a great response to my singing!

You could give singing lessons.

I like "Maria" it's like watching a Broadway show.

And "Windmills Of Your Mind" makes me think you could do the opening song for the next James Bond movie.

"Blues Thing" is GREAT!

You really shine on "River".

I wanna see your show.

Thanks so much, YeahDoIt!! That's so nice of you to say. (you do know that Maria is a total joke, right? lol)

One of the things that I immediately hook to is the phrasing in some of your recordings - AngelSM, Silver Springs, Songbird2, Music Of The Night, Machine.

Each phrase has it's own expression. Your work immediately stands out from other artists' recordings.

Last night I listened to American Idol (a TV talent show in the USA) contestants on YouTube. You might watch some of the videos. Pay close attention because...

I think your singing sounds a gazillion times better than the American Idol ladies.

"Maria" is interesting because you create different voices, different characters. You could use this song to audition for musicals if you want to go that way. I think the different voices can be useful when recording original songs - there is no prior recording to mimic, and interpretation of your original music is 100 % your job, no one can do it as well as you can.

Are there open mic nights in the nightclubs in your area? You might prepare a show of about 5 songs, use a portable karaoke device or CD player for backing music if you need to, sing a few songs for the audience. Notice their reaction. People might like you a lot.

Go with this. Open mics are the best place to get exposure. That's the way I ended up playing the biggest and best paying gig of my musical career so far. You'll meet tons of people and find out what needs work/if you're perfect.

Congrats on getting this far, grace. Now just jump out there and make it happen. :thu:

Heh. :)

YeahDoIt, you know, people have said something like that before - about my phrasing and stuff. I honestly don't really notice that I'm doing anything differently to anyone else. Maybe I pronounce things differently cause I'm Australian...*shrug*
