Members namesean
Easiest way to route a nut slot.....on a zero fret neck? I have a malmsteen scalloped neck with a zero fret (in stead of the nut) I can get that fret off..... but curious if there is any DIY way, hints, tips, without free handing it. (routing it) Thanks so much. skendorski@yahoo.com
Members musicdog400
I think having the zero fret makes the job easier actually since you don't have to be as precise. I recently cut a nut slot using a router. A table saw might work also.
Members mrbrown49
Why do you want to take the zero fret off and replace it?
Members namesean
To put on a nut. I am going to do a brass nut and I was really asking about the router. I just want to make sure I do it straight. Sean

Members blueszman
Just my opinion, but taking the zero fret off may be a mistake. I've got an old Gretsch with a zero fret and I have never had to worry about string buzz. But to answer your question, go to http://www.stewmac.com they have an attachment for a Dremel tool that will do the job.
