Members craig_in_tx
Hey guys, as you can see by my post count I'm a newb, but I've been blown away by the amount of information I've received on these forums in just a few days time...I'm definitely hooked! I was wondering if anybody had some good information and/or links to help with re-covering a combo amplifier. I've got an old Peavey Delta Blues that I'm toying with the idea of re-covering in cowhide. Thinking of doing either a Holstein or longhorn type of cowhide but as this will be my first time doing something like this, I didn't know if this is something that could be done. Any tips/pointers/links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Members Casey4s
Here are some links on recovering a cabinet. Trying to re-cover with actual hide might be quite a challenge. There are some simulated hide Tolex type coverings that might better suit your needs. MoJo has a good selection and decent prices. http://www.mojotone.com/ Tolex Tutorial Text File: (read this FIRST)http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/casey4s/lst?.dir=/The+Tolex+Tutorial&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/ Tolex Tutorial Pics-cabinet: http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff243/Casey4s/The%20Tolex%20Tutorial-Tolexing%20a%20Cabinet/?start=all&paginator=bottom Tolex Tutorial pics-Curved areas:http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff243/Casey4s/The%20Tolex%20Tutorial-Tolexing%20Curved%20Areas/ Tolex Tutorial Pics-corners:http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff243/Casey4s/The%20Tolex%20Tutorial-Tolexing%20a%20Corner/
Members craig_in_tx
Thanks for the info. Yeah, I was kind of concerned about the choice of material and how hard it would be to work with...I just think it would look really unique.
