Members Procreatur
a lot of info is available on the web, and some books can be useful. i have one of dave funk's books, and its pretty good at explaining things in laymans terms. i haven't picked up any of morgan jones' books on amazon, but have been meaning to. dave hunter gets recommendations as well. check out aikenamps.com tech info to start with, and always remember poking around inside an amplifier is dangerous and can be deadly if you don't know what you're doing/careless. Members Badside
You can have a look at the "Firefly build" thread (right here in this forum). I ordered the PCB yesterday, it's gonna come out under 200$ with all necessary parts and the enclosure Seems like a nice first build.
Members mrbrown49
Badside gives a good suggestion. Even before that though, I would try building a simple boost pedal or something to learn a bot about reading schematics and soldering.
Members Casey4s
Another vote for the Firefly... (search this forum for "FireFly") It would be very helpful if you read a book or two on Basic DC electrical theory and work on your soldering skills.
