Members nitneydad
I need to drill mounting screw holes for 6 in line vintage Gotoh single hole tuners. Does any one have any tips how to align the tuners properly so I don't mess them up. It looks simple but I want to be sure before I start drilling
Members badone07
If you have the same type of tuners on another headstock, you could trace them. Pull the tuners, lay a piece of paper of it. Color with a crayon or pencil edge. Line up the tracing with the new headstock, mark & drill. Should get you pretty close.
Members nitneydad
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately my other Strat has the modern two screw drill. Stew Mac has an allignment tool but it does not work for Gotoh, only Sperzel and Schaller. The Gotoh and Schaller heads are very simular buy I don't know. Members WRGKMC
Set them all in place without the screws, Make sure theyre centered with the bushings installed, Tape them all in place so they dont move, Drill your piolet holes with a bit slightly smaller than the screws (Very Impirtant to ptrvrnt screws breaking off or stripping) Put your screws in, remove tape and your done.
