Members jstepro
i currently have a guitar pedal that has a low mid and hi section on a toggle switch. i would like to put that toggle on a stomp. my thoughts were to have the toggle be a three way that has low mid, mid high, and low hi. once you have the toggle set the stomp would switch between whatever you have it set to. I.E the toggle is set to low, high so when you stomp it would switch it from low to high. does any one have any idea how to do this. thanks
Members MattyOvertone
with out looking at the pedal or having a schematic, i can't be sure how it's wired right now... but I'm assuming you have a SPTT toogle switch, with a signal connection as common and high, mid, and low tap throws like below: Hi Mid Lo / Signal If so, you can do what you want with a SPDT puch button switch and a DPTT toggle switch. The DPTT may be hard to come by... I'm not sure if they're common or not and depending on the size restrictions of the pedal, you may have to try to instal a mini DPTT slider switch. The pic below is a little confusing but the bottom box is the SPDT push button. It bonds "signal" to "1" and when you push it bonds "signal" to "2" The top box is the DPTT toggle. The colored lines just indicate switch position, not wires. So blue would be position 1, red is position 2, and green is position 3. So brief examples of outcome operation: push button is set signal --> 1 and the toggle is at position 2, your signal will go to Hi... click the push button once (switches to signal --> 2) your signal will be fed to mid. Same idea for other toggle positions. Sorry if this is confusing, i didn't do a very good job explaining.
Members jstepro
if i post a picture of the guts of the pedal(sorry i dont have a schematic) would you be able to help with the wiring? also, is the dptt switch an on/off/on switch
Members nbabmf
Hmm. That's kind of a cool idea, but like Matty said... the DPTT toggle switch might be hard to come by. A lot of great mods have come about as compromises though. Here's mine: DPDT stomp switch replaces the three-way toggle, only going between two of the settings (low and high). Then I would use a second boost or EQ pedal to selectively bump up the midrange. You would then have boosts for low, mid-low, mid, mid-high, high, and low-high. Members jstepro
it is a distortion pedal that i have that i need the mod for, what it does is starts out at normal ts-808 amount of gain, then with each toggle it adds in 15 percent more gain, so i am trying to keep the flexability of gain but just have it on a stomp instead of just a toggle
